Over a hundred years ago, Vladimir became a Turk, and he still is a
member
of the organization. That was before ShinRa was founded and the Turks
was
sort of an organized group of mercenaries.
Vladimir was involved in some of the Nibelheim experiments with
Vincent
Valentine.
Hojo injected Vincent's human DNA in him to make him more human and
the opposite to Vincent. For a change, Hojo succeeded, and Vladimir
became
invulnerable to holy and sunlight. It had it's drawbacks, his speed and
strength was reduced to human level (speed is a little higher and
strength
is a bit lower than average humans). His extremely high magical and
mental
level was unaffected. He and Vincent changed eye-color. Before Vincent
had clear blue eyes and Vladimir had equally red eyes. Vincent's eyes
changed
to red and Vladimir's eyes turned to ice-blue
After the experiments, Vincent was captured when he tried to help
Lucretzia.
Vladimir's memory was erased during the process and he escaped to
find
out who he really is. Since then hasn't he been seen or heard of and is
therefor considered MIA (Missing In Action).
The Turks have given him the nickname "Bloodbat" for an obvious
reason,
and he prefers to be called that.
