Sephiroth seems serene in a dark, empty sort of way, confident in his goals and his purpose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Information ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Name: Sephiroth -Age: Uknown (speculated to be somewhere in his mid-thirties) -Race: Special. -Birthday: Unknown. -Gender: Male. -Height: 6'1" -Weight: 210 lbs. -Hair (color and style): Sephiroth posesses long, thick, chalk-white hair that cascades down over his shoulders, falling around his lower back. It appears to have a bluish-grey undertone, and is quite immaculate, rarely marred by filth or wear. -Eyes: A pale, frosty green. Sephiroth's eyes are piercing and quite haunting, filled with a dark, unmatched intensity that gives the few people he directly deals with the impression that he is looking through them, rather than at them. Lightly slanted, and often narrowed with what looks to be an oppressive weight, the intensity in his eyes is compounded by fact that his gaze never falters, and never seems to be diverted from the direction of his attention. -Complexion: Sephiroth has a flawless, marble-like complexion. Unmarred by time or elements, his skin is free of blemishes or creases and always appears to be drawn tightly over his frame. -Voice: Sephiroth speaks with a soft, almost serene baritone. His voice has the ability to be heard in the most noisy of circumstances despite his quiet speech. He speaks in a calm, somewhat disturbing monotone for the most part, rarely letting emotion creep into his voice, and his words are sharp, with virtually perfect inflection. -Build: Sephiroth posesses the build and musculature of what he is: a perfect soldier. He has wide shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs and arms. His body is thickly corded with hard, chiseled muscle, though not so much as to hinder his speed of movement, and he posesses a symetry and athestic quality that few could ever hope to match. He moves with what could be called a dancer's grace, appearing to be in a constant state of perfect balance and coordination. The perfection of his physical self alone demands respect, and makes him an effortless warrior. -Facial Features: Sephiroth posesses a delicate, almost feminine structure to his face that greatly adds to his cold, cruel deneamor. He has high, noble cheekbones, and a narrow, tapered chin. His lips are relatively thin, and mostly lacking in colour, which gives his mouth a slightly pursed appearance that further adds to the image of intensity he displays. His nose is almost razor-sharp, perfect in symmetrywith small, delicate nostrils and a slight hawkish hook. -Identifying Marks: None (this is Sephiroth we're talking about here -it's not like he needs identifying marks). -Dress/Clothing/Jewelry: Typically, Sephiroth is clothed in his old military outfit, consisting of an open-chested, shiny black trenchcoat inset with a golden medallion denoting his rank and achievement. Mako-tempered steel shoulder-plates lay over this, the straps for which crossing over his chest, as do small chest insets and his heavy, polished black leather gauntlets. He wears black kevlar pants underneath his polished black knee-high combat boots. Sephiroth has also taken to wearing a heavy, glossy black monk-type robe for purposes of simplicity. -General Appearance: Generally, Sephiroth carries with him a cold, immaculate appearance. He seems to be in a constant state of perfection. He is never dirty, never appears to be worried or concerned, and is always supremely confident about any task he undertakes. He posesses a fierce, dark intensity that radiates around him like an aura, his focus and control are perceptible to anyone around him. Everything he does appears to be effortless, to the point where he appears to be almost bored, regardless of difficulty or necessity. ~~ -Occupation: Sephiroth is currently occupied with both mastering his new power, which allows him to control matter and energy like the Ancients, and continuing his search for details of his origin. He is aware of his need for the Black Materia and knows it's location, but without opposition, is content to complete his personal discovery first. -Secondary Skills: Sephiroth masters virtually everything he undertakes. His intelligence is enviable by most, and his skills at such tasks as cooking, artistry and even mechanics is comparable to a master's, though he rarely has need of any of these skills any longer. He is an unmatched warrior; the rumors of his being indestructable very close to being true, he able to destroy even the strongest monsters and warriors with minimal effort. -Extra abilities: Sephiroth has no need of materia, with the exception of the Black materia. In the years since his disappearance, he has learned to manipulate energy much as the Ancients once did, and while he is still refining this skill, needless to say it makes him all the more dangerous. -Hobbies: Sephiroth takes a great deal of time thinking, reasoning, and philosophizing. Hidden away in his crystal chamber in the Northern Crater, he will often spends days without interuption pondering the smallest details of life, the planet, and his ultimate goal and purpose. ~~ -Personality: Most people who are fortunate to walk away from an encounter with Sephiroth find themselves more or less shaken. Those who have served with him in the war with Wutai have said that it wasn't so much his reputation or the fierce intensity he performed his tasks with that sent shivers down their spine when dealing with him, but the fact that he always appeared to be little more than an automaton, killing, rescuing, creating and destroying with the same identical disattachment from the world around him. Nobody who served with him can remember Sephiroth smiling, frowning, or even changing the pitch of his quiet, serene voice. He entered battle, slaughtered countless numbers of men and sustained the rare injury without so much as a grimace. Of course, none of these men and women were aware of the cirumstances surrounding Sephiroth's life. Sephiroth is a product his upbringing; deprived of family, of emotional stimuli in his younger years where he was little more than a guinea-pig of Hojo's, Sephiroth's emotional base is severely stunted. Most describe Sephiroth as cold and more than a little distant, but it is much more than that; Sephiroth simply does not know how to respond to the emotions he feels. He doesn't know what feels like to be angry, or to be happy, and so when he does experience these emotions, he simply becomes confused, and represses them. Despite this lacking of emotional response, Sephiroth is intelligent enough to recognize that there has always been something missing from his life, to realize that while others strive to rise in military ranking, to settle down with a family or simply do well for themselves, he has no such direction. He has been little more than a mindless instrument of destruction, and were he able to acknowledge it, he'd realize that this has caused regret. The problem is, since he cannot understand the emotions he feels, he does not know what would make him happy, content, and therefore cannot aspire to anything more than what he is. This all changed, however, when Sephiroth went "insane" eight years ago in Nibelheim. When he discovered his "mother", and was compelled by her to free her and destroy Nibelheim. With the help of Jenova, he began to understand what rage was like, discovered the warmth it infused into him, the exhileration that destruction allowed him to feel. Being revived by Jenova after his plunge into the Mako pit in the Nibelheim reactor, Sephiroth found something that had eluded him all his life; a sense of purpose. Now, he realized, he was the heir to the planet, had to cleanse it and reconstruct it, much as the Ancients had once tried to do. This new direction has brought him things that he has never before felt - he understands the feeling of satisfaction he gets when he masters some new aspect of the Cetra abilities he works to master, or somehow furthers his goals, as well as the burning disappointment when he fails or something goes wrong- and he treasures each new discovery. For the first time in his life, Sephiroth has something to look towards, and while the conscience of the Ancients in the stream has warned him of the consequences of his actions, Sephiroth refuses to have what he believes is the one thing that brings meaning to his life taken away from him - he'll continue towards his goal, experiencing all the new feelings that come with it, and anything else be damned. ~~ -Background: The first subject of Dr. Gast's legacy, the Jenova Project, Sephiroth was born to Dr. Hojo's wife, Lucrecia, who had been injected with Jenova cells prior to Sephiroth's birth. Lucrecia died during the birth before even being able to hold her baby, though the Jenova cells present inside her led to her eventual ressurection. Raised in a mostly isolated enviroment, Sephiroth was treated as little more than an intelligent experiment, denied the affection and stimuli that all children should receive, told only that his mother was named "Jenova" and told nothing of his father. Sephiroth was entered into SOLDIER in his late teens, after the effects of the Jenova during puberty were observed, as a requirement of Shinra, who funded the project. Sephiroth excelled in the military, and was everything Shinra could want in a soldier -incomparable strength, stamina, skill, and magical apptitude. Furthermore, Sephiroth's lack of emotional capability meant that he could do difficult decision making without having morals or emotional ties interfering with his mission's objectives. He was indeed the perfect SOLDIER, and when he was sent to participate in the war with Wutai, tales of his prowress in battle, and rumors of his alledged invinciblity, combined with his rapid rise through the ranks of SOLDIER to make him a legend throughout the world - a hero in the Shinra dominion, and a villain in Wutai. When the war finally ended, Sephiroth found himself as the most powerful general in SOLDIER, and when talk of strange monsters emerging from the reactor in Nibelheim required verification, Sephiroth was asked to lead an investigation party after the previous team of veteran SOLDIERS had disappeared. It was here in Nibelheim that Sephiroth discovered his "mother", Jenova, and went on his terrible rampage, destroying Nibelheim and butchering it's people. Returning to the reactor, it was believed that Cloud killed him by forcing him into the Mako vat in the reactor, though this was far from the truth. The Jenova cells inside him, strengthened by his contact with Jenova, protected him from the lethal effects of the Mako enough to let him escape soon after, his mind cleansed of his insanity from the ordeal. Believed to be dead, Sephiroth was content to disappear, and secretly discovering that much of Hojo's notes could still be found in the old Shinra mansion in Nibelheim, spends a great deal of time reading Hojo's notes, learning more about Jenova, the Reuinion, and the experiment that spawned him. He then returned to Icicle Town, where Proffessor Gast had lived, to attempt and discover more about Jenova. From the notes he found, he determined, as Gast had, that Jenova was an Ancient. As her "son", Sephiroth believed, he was the last remaining Ancient, and was heir to the planet, his destiny to cleanse and rebuild the planet, as the Ancients had once attempted to do. Finding limited information in Icicle town, but discovering that much of Gast's work had been transfered to the Shinra tower in Midgar, Sephiroth returned to Midgar. Entering the Shinra tower and leaving a trail of slaughtered opponents in his wake, Sephiroth entered Hojo's labs searching for Gast's research notes. His priorities changed when he discovered Jenova's body contained in the lab. Compelled once again by Jenova to free it, even Sephiroth was unable to destroy the containment device. Instead, Jenova directed him to President Shinra's office, where Sephiroth, an extension of Jenova, killed him and fled, leaving his Masamune behind, buried in the president's body to be claimed later by Azeral Vonstein. Fighting Jenova's influence, Sephiroth returned to Nibelheim, which had since been reconstructed by Shinra, and continued his reading of Hojo's notes, which mentioned that Jenova had been discovered by Gast's expidition team in the Northern Crater. Seeking away to somehow drive Jenova from his mind, Sephiroth journeyed to the Northern Crater, where he discovered the huge amounts of lifestream had gathered. Touching it, his Jenova cells protecting him again from the lethal effects, Sephiroth realized what wisdom lay inside of it. Immersing himself in the lifestream, free of Jenova's control, Sephiroth has spent the last three years learning about the Ancients and their powers, as well as the original plot involving the Black Materia. It was here, as he learned to control the wisdom of the Ancients in the lifestream, that he began to form a plan to cleanse the world, and attain the power he was heir to. ~~ -Affiliation/Organization: None. Leader of the "Cult of Sephiroth" by necessity more than prefrence. -Reputation with various groups: Sephiroth's name is known in all areas of the world, if only by reputation, though the disintigration of ShinRa, as well as the simple passage of time with his absence, have eroded the fame surrounding him, especially in younger children, who once idolized him. Most believe him now to be dead. ~~ -Mother: Lucrecia. -Father: Hojo. -Siblings: None. -Mate: None. -Children: None. -Pets: None (actually, he has a widdy-biddy puppy named Buttons :0). Just kidding). -Birthplace: Nibelheim. -Current Residence: Sephiroth spends most of his time either at the Northern Crater, the City of the Ancients, or the old mansion in Nibelheim. ~~ -Weapons: Sephiroth carries no weapons, his infamous Masamune being left behind in the body of President Shinra, to be eventually claimed by Azeral Vonstein. It should be noted, however, that he needs no weapons, as there is very little that could actually threaten him at this time. -Armour: Only the meagre armour he wears with his military outfit, more ornamental than anything. -Materia: Sephiroth posesses no materia, having now learned how to manipulate lifestream energy to form magic as the Cetra once did. The only materia he truly needs is the Black, as the task of summoning a meteor is beyond the abilities of any single mortal. -Other items: None. ~~ -Other notes: None.
