many of the new republic, but she is also occasionally seen in light dresses
or skirts, or even less often, in comfortable pants and shirts.  The Key to

glasses are perched on her nose.
-General Appearance: Katerina is always dressed for appearing in public,
since she never knows when she might be called to a meeting - even in the
middle of the night.  More than likely, though, you will find her at her
desk, reviewing papers, news, reports, and more.  She carries a very
business-like look around her, from her immaculately polished shoes to the
piercing eyes behind her glasses.

Lifestream, from her years as a professor in a high-quality school.

Being an ex-teacher, she knows a lot of information - you never know when

-Personality: The essence of cool.  No one has quite figured out what will
finally make her snap.  Katerina is very reliable, and never breaks a
promise.  This quality is probably what got her elected - that, and her fame
as an article writer about the use of Mako and its draining of the Planet.
Despite her sharp bearing, people are able to feel comfortable around her
because of her honesty and the fact that she takes everything in stride.

-Background:  Katerina has always enjoyed learning more than anything.  Her
parents scraped and saved to send her to the finest school Midgar can offer.
When she was 17, she got a job teaching at the school she had grown up in.
At the age of 20, she went to Cosmo Canyon to continue learning about Mako
and the Lifestream.  It was there that she learned the truth - that Mako was
draining the life from the Planet.  Enraged by the duplicity Shinra had been
playing on the people, she returned to Midgar and started writing essays.
They were overlooked at first, but as the years passed she gained more
prominence.  Her articles even started appearing in some Shinra-run papers
and stations.  During the Shinra Revolution, she was a staunch supporter of
the cause, and was often seen giving uplifting speeches.  When President
Rufus was overthrown, her friends and colleagues pushed her into running for
the Prime Minister.  As she does with everything, she put her all into the
elections, and won.  Currently, she is fulfilling all the duties of the
leader of Midgar, and attempting to bring the
use of Mako down and to restore equilibrium to the Planet.

and if not liked, at least tolerated, since she hasn't done anything
