-Background: Born in Kalm, she moved to Midgar at the age of 21,
and got a job working in Shinra's R&D department. After about five years
she got a hold of some experimental material that reflected magic (similar
to the way a mirror reflects light) and stole some of it, and made a weapon
out of it. To cover her tracks she faked her own death. During the Black 36
incident, she got caught on camera and was put on Midgar's Most Wanted. She
also met Ethan during this time. One night when her "friends" were out one
of the materia shards in her weapon had a strange reaction and "splashed"
her. It made her stronger, darkened her skin, allowed her to cast
simple earth spells (at first uncontrollably), and also changed the color
of her eyes. After the Midgar Revolution she returned to her first love,
science. She got a job in the new government's R&D department, specifically
weapons. Over the last three years she has developed several weapons of war,
and also some weapons suitable for police use. During the last three years
she has had a relationship with a man named Ethan Lore, whom she met in the
slums after saving him from a group of thugs.

-Other notes: The materia cannon is a foot long, one and a half inches in
diameter, and has a grip on the front end, and a "ring" around the back
end, large enough to fit your arm through. It works by focusing the magic
from a materia into a small space, causing it to erupt from the front of
the barrel in a compact ball. It is extremely focused and extremely fast.
When it strikes something it behaves something like a shaped-charge 
explosive, unless the de-focus attachment has been put on, in which case
it acts more like a standard dumb-fire rocket. After the Midgar Revolution 
the prototype was refined and mass-produced to equip soldiers. It uses 
standard attack materia, but does not support materia "linking" or any
materia other than "magic" type. Attempts to use other kinds of materia give
unexpected results, usually quite dangerous. Chello's current cannon is
an experimental refinement of the standard model, with the ability to
combine two magic types into a single blast, without having to have special
"hybrid" materia. The original prototype is currently on display in the New 
Midgar Science Museum in Sector 1.
